This 24 x 48 inch fiber art piece is a dimensional "still life" composed through hand knit textile and painted elements. This piece combines hand loom knitting, hand crochet, hand embroidery, and acrylic painting to reinterpret the traditional floral still life. A bouquet of black cotton roses rises from a knit backdrop and painted vessel, shifting between flat image and sculptural surface.

This hybrid artwork is developed through individual, hand crocheted black roses, hand loomed floral appliqué, and hand embroidered tonal green vines and leaves.

This piece explores contrast through the techniques applied - soft textile/structured composition, dimensional surface/graphic imagery, and traditional subject/modern execution.
